It’s no secret that I am always looking for “that one” brand/product that will forever keep my acne issues in check, and though I have found many really great and effective products to help heal blemishes as they pop up, the truth is, I want more. I want to be healed. I don’t want to just have a few good skin days, followed by weeks of bad. I also don’t want to spend a fortune on this “holy grail” skin healer either. Clearly, I don’t want much…;-)

Well, after years (and years) of seeking, I think I may have finally found it! Cue the Hallelujah chorus…

Now, before you get too excited, my skin hasn’t miraculously been cured of acne…yet – obviously, there are internal issues I need to address as well, so I realize a topical treatment alone isn’t going to perform miracles. BUT, my skin is much healthier looking since I incorporated two specific products from a favorite (and affordable!) brand into my routine.

I’ve been a fan of Blissoma for a while, ever since I tried their deodorants a few Summers ago (you can read my thoughts here), but it’s the two skincare products I am going to share today that has made this a brand one I will forever be obsessed with!

So, what are these two little superstars that have made such a difference in my skin?

Smooth A+ Correcting Serum

Formulated especially for problematic skin types, this serum contains Niacinamide, balancing herbs, and vitamin A for clearer, calmer & brighter skin. The silky, lightweight texture melts into the skin, leaving a soft matte finish, while still being very hydrating. I noticed a reduction in redness and breakouts as soon as I started using this and with continued use, my skin rarely breaks out anymore (and definitely not as badly!) and the tone and texture of my skin seem improved as well. Most acne products typically use Tea Tree Oil as their base, and while this is a really effective remedy, it can be drying for some people. This is why Blissoma chose to use Rose as the theme for this product – its broad spectrum therapeutic effects work perfectly with the other ingredients to cleanse and calm pores. This also contains cold-extracted Olive Leaf which offers potent antibacterial & anti-inflammatory benefits, as well as Organic Licorice and Heather Flowers to help reduce hyperpigmentation. And for anti-aging benefits, you get natural (not to mention gentle) retinol in the form of freshly juiced Organic Carrot & Helio Carrot CO2. Last, but certainly not least, you get a super potent acne-fighter with the inclusion of Niacinamide at a percentage of 4%, which is proven to be more effective than 1% of clindamycin antibacterial gel at preventing acne breakouts. Niacinamide also helps to maintain ceramide levels, which is important for hydration, collagen synthesis, and even-toned skin. Even the scent was designed to be therapeutic – the combination of Rose, Bergamot & Frankincense all have calming and stress-relieving properties & we all know how stress can negatively affect our skin! Timeless – Vitamin C Reconstruction Serum

Since I struggle with oily & dry/dehydrated, easily irritated acne-prone skin, I was more than happy to try this product! Created with a base of potent, bioavailable fruit seed oil from Pomegranate, Blackberry, & Baobab, plus stabilized vitamin C in the form of Ascorbyl Palmitate, this rich oil-like serum offers some serious anti-aging benefits! Besides the anti-oxidant and collagen-stimulating properties from vitamin C, you also get anti-inflammatory Omega 3 from Chia Seeds, which also helps provide lipid protection, and finally, Ferulic Acid which acts as a photoprotective agent for the skin. The texture is a thick, luxurious oil that soaks into the skin, leaving it feeling deeply moisturized and soft – not at all greasy. The scent is very earthy and slightly fruity. I’ve been using this for about a month (along with the Smooth A+ Serum) and my skin is less red, less irritated, and more plump and firm. Anyone looking for a really effective antiaging product that also works well for acne or problem skin, this here is your HG product!
