With the emphasis on mindfulness and sustainability continuing in our skincare choices into 2023, I wanted to share with you 4 clean beauty brands that strike all the right chords with me. These are brands that are not only environmentally conscious, but they are brands that are innovative, thoughtful in their formulating, and ethical in their business practices.

  1. French Girl Organics – This is a brand that believes in the power of self-care and conscious consumption. All of their products are lovingly and thoughtfully crafted by the founder, Kristeen, who uses her knowledge and background as an herbalist to create formulas that are as nourishing as they are luxurious. Incorporating high-quality organic ingredients with ethical, eco-friendly business practices, and a fair-trade, cruelty-free supply chain, this is a brand to watch for!
  2. L:A Bruket Skincare – A Swedish skincare, haircare & homecare brand, L:a Bruket takes inspiration from the 200 years of spa culture in their coastal region of Varberg. Founders Mats Johansson and Monica Kylén have been developing organic skin and hair products since 2008 using a “modern mindset to age-old sea therapy practices, such as seaweed bathing” to create treatments that are both innovative and sustainably sourced.
  3. Esse Skincare – I’m all about the microbiome, so finding a clean skincare brand that uses microbiome-protecting ingredients (pre and probiotics) in their formulas made me take notice. Founder and biochemist, Trevor Steyn was inspired by his passion for both the microbiome and the plants in his home country of South Africa. He continues to actively research how the application of new probiotic species can help to combat aging and optimize the health of the skin. Since their inception, Esse has been certified organic, vegan, and cruelty-free. They also support fair trade and are a carbon-neutral company.
  4. Studio Botanic – This German clean skincare brand truly embraces its “less is more” motto with simple formulations, and minimalistic packaging design, only using what ingredients & raw materials that are absolutely necessary for optimal efficacy. Their plant-based formulas are organic, backed by research, and always cruelty-free.

Have you tried any of these brands? What are your thoughts?

Until next time,

Brie xo
